Hoofgain™ - Hoof Supplement for Horses
Same trusted and proven Mitavite® formula in a new look – exclusive to Mitavite® and Hygain®!
AN AID IN THE MAINTENANCE OF HOOF INTEGRITY
A blend of essential vitamins, minerals and fatty acids in a palatable formulation.
Hygain® HOOFGAIN™ is a safe and comprehensive hoof supplement for horses. Our formula provides critical minerals that your horse can't produce on its own - in addition to other crucial vitamins. Contains:
Biotin: A vital co-enzyme to assist in the forming of Keratin from key amino acids.
Methionine: A primary sulphur bearing amino acid that along with cysteine (which Methionine can synthesize) are essential ingredients in Keratin. Methionine must be provided in increased levels where hoof growth is desired.
Zinc: Key mineral in hoof and coat health. Hoof quality will often suffer where Zinc supply is marginal.
Vitamin A: One of the carotenoids essential to all keratinized tissue. Supplementation particularly essential for horses not on high quality fresh pasture.
Vitamin E: Benefits of Vitamin E as an antioxidant are well documented and is also an essential nutrient for renewal of Keratin.
Omega 3 Fatty Acids: Essential nutrient in the formation of supple and strong membranes including hoof wall microtubules and laminae.
Iodine: Deficiency in this mineral often causes poor coat and hoof quality.
Why are Hoof Supplements for Horses Important?
Hoof supplements for horses are often needed for two major reasons:
A horse is often only as healthy as its hoofs. Horses are literally on their hoofs all day and cannot perform their desired workload if they are in pain or have poor structural health.
Hoof supplements are engineered to provide important vitamins that are often missing from a horse's natural diet. Just as important, the horse supplements provide minerals that a horse cannot produce on its own. The only source of these minerals are straight from the feed and supplements they eat.
If your horse has a demanding workload or is advancing in its years, we strongly encourage you to discuss a hoof supplement for your horse with your veterinarian.

The best supplement for muscle soreness, nerve, fertility and immune function.

Exceptional quality Vitamin E made in the USA.
Vitamin E for horses is a powerful antioxidant supplement, obtained from a natural source to ensure best bioavailability and the most potent antioxidant properties.
What does Vitamin E do for horses?
Vitamin E protects cellular function in the body and has a special role in supporting muscle, nerve, fertility and immune function.
When would I supplement my horse with Vitamin E?
Performance horses, particularly those who are prone to muscle soreness, ty up, as well as horses with limited access to fresh grass may need extra vitamin E supplemented to their diets.
Horses with Shivers and other nerve disorders or muscle weakness also benefit from supplementation of Vitamin E.
Vitamin E aids the uptake of selenium and in addition aids immune and reproductive function.
It is always advised that electrolyte and selenium status is checked if your horse is becoming frequently sore with work (and despite adequate conditioning).
Nutritional breakdown of ingredients:
Vitamin E as d-alpha-tocopherol acetate. Natural source.
My feeds contain Vitamin E, do i need more?
Most feeds and forages are a good source of vitamin E. However, some horses may require more.
Typically, a horse needs 100o-2000 IU from the diet.
If this is in shortfall or the horse is performing at a high level this can be increased.
It is best to evaluate the amount in your feeds and whether your horse is on reduced fresh, green grass that could be limiting the amount before considering more.
The dose of Vitamin E:
A 3 gram scoop is enclosed in the pack.
Per 500 Kg bodyweight: 1.5 grams is equal to 780 IU
3 grams is equal to 1560 IU

Equine Athlete B-Boost Paste
B group vitamins are essential for the conversion of chemical energy that occurs within the muscle fibres. Under grazing conditions, the daily requirement of B Vitamins is produced by the micro-organisms in the large intestine. High grain intake lowers the intestinal PH with a resultant drop in vitamin B production.
A diet low in B Vitamins has shown to have an effect on athletic performance. Human studies have shown that when athletes were restricted to less than half of their daily requirement for vitamins B1, B2 & B6, a significant drop in performance occurred. Similar studies in equine athletes have shown that supplementing with vitamin B1 prior to competition improved performance by reducing the accumulation of lactic acid in the muscles.Horses in training benefit from B Vitamin supplementation for several reasons;
1) The production of ATP increases with exercise, therefore so does the requirement for B vitamins.
2) Digestion of high grain diets leads to a fall in the pH of the large intestine, which in turn alters the microflora population. The result is a net decrease in B vitamin production.
3) Studies have shown that supplementing Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) in the diet has the effect of reducing post exercise lactic acid levels.
B Boost paste contains high levels of all the essential B group vitamins in one single oral dose syringe. It also contains Betaine, which is converted to dimethylglycine in the liver. DMG reduces lactic acid build-up during strenuous exercise.
B Boost contains no prohibited substances so is safe to use prior to competition and should be administered 12 to 24 hours prior to competition, or on a regular basis for poor appetite, or to assist recovery after sickness. Also assists recovery from traveling long distances.
Daily dose rates: Full 30ml syringe when required
Devils claw for horses in a pure, high-quality natural joint supplement.
The concentration of our devil’s claw requires as little as 3-6 grams!
Administering is therefore easier with less powder in feed and also more palatable to the horse.
It is finely milled for best absorption to supports joints and ease of movement in horses.
Devils claw offers a natural plant-based supplement and more holistic approach to animal care and improving the health of your horse.
Devils claw for horses in a pure, high quality concentrate powder form.
This high strength -powder is ten times stronger than regular devils’ claw. Ordinary devils’ claw for horse’s contains around 1% active harpagoside, whereas our powder contains a standardized 10 % harpagoside.
Understanding Harpagoside in devils’ claw for horses:
Devils claw contains glucosides, with the most important active known as harpagoside.
This compound exhibits anti-inflammatory effects providing potential benefits for inflammatory related conditions.
The amount of devils’ claw and the active of harpagoside are different.
The level of harpagoside must be standardized and laboratory tested to determine its value.
The value of harpagoside for horses should be 385 mg- 770 mg daily or as high as 1500-2500 mg daily for more painful conditions.
What is the dose for NPC devils’ claw?
3 grams delivers 300g harpagoside
6 grams delivers 600 mg harpagoside
15 grams delivers 1500 mg harpagoside
25 grams delivers 2500 mg harpagoside
Regular devils claw powder at a dose of 30 grams delivers around 300 mg harpagoside active.
To achieve 1500 mg harpagoside then 150 grams of powder would be required. If 2500 mg were required then 250 grams of regular devils claw would be needed.
NPC devils’ claw for horses is therefore more concentrated in harpagoside content, is consistently tested to ensure the standardized level.
The amount required is much less to achieve more benefits, keeping it palatable also for your horse.
We recommend the higher dose (of 15 g-25 g) if the inflammation is high.
Why quality matters
Most devils claw powders are of unknown active as they are dried and chopped root but typically are around 1 % harpagoside.
NPC devil’s claw is a standardized, concentrated root powder tested with each batch to ensure harpagoside content.
It is then ground and kept fresh in an air-tight pack where it can be administered direct into the feed.
This popular natural supplement for horses helps to support ease of movement, free up stiff horses to older horses and those that need extra support.
How does devils claw work?
Devils claw helps to reduce inflammation which is the body’s reaction to injury and pain.
Clinical studies have shown the active of devils’ claw (harpagoside) to exhibit anti-inflammatory effects when used at the correct dose.
This herbal remedy is often used for horses with arthritis, pain, inflammation or soundness issues.
NPC devil’s claw is a high strength version compared to regular devil’s claw powder enabling you to use less in your horse feed, increase feed palatability while ensuring a high, effective and therapeutic dose.
The active of devil’s claw is known as harpagoside and where a withholding time is required if competing under FEI rules.
