Dura-Hoof 1KG
$72.00
Estimated delivery between September 13 and September 15.
Dura-Hoof 1KG — Horse Hoof Growth Supplement
A feed supplement for the promotion of hoof growth in horses. Dura-Hoof is a white powder with a vanilla scent.
Active Ingredients (per 30g dose)
- Biotin — 15.0 mg
- MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) — 2.5 g
- Zinc — 0.45 g
- Methionine (as a complex) — 2.0 g
- Calcium — 9.0 g
Mode of Action
Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin that works in the biosynthesis of proteins, improving the process of keratinisation and the organisation of keratinised connective tissue.
MSM is a naturally occurring sulphur nutrient. Sulphur is important to all tissue but is particularly high in keratins — the proteins predominant in the hoof. Hoof material, built up of keratins, requires sulphur supplementation.
Zinc and Methionine supply adequate daily levels of substances required for keratin formation. Methionine is an essential amino acid and zinc is present in numerous enzymes. Adequate zinc improves the keratinisation process, particularly in the coronary band skin immediately above the hoof.
Calcium is required for the formation of new cell tissue and for the bonding of internal hoof laminae. When combined with biotin and protein, the rate of growth and quality of horn produced is improved.
Indications
For cracked, soft and brittle hooves. To prevent frequent throwing of shoes and to enhance general hoof growth and condition in all types of horses.
Directions For Use
For oral use only. For best results, mix Dura-Hoof into fresh feed each day.
- Treatment — Horses: 30 g daily
- Treatment — Ponies: 18 g daily
- Prevention — Horses: 6 g daily
- Prevention — Ponies: 4 g daily
Continue the treatment dose until the old damaged hoof has been completely replaced by new growth. This will take approximately six months. Once sound hoof has been established, reduce to the prevention dose rate.
Note: A double scoop is enclosed (30 g and 8 g). To facilitate proper adhesion, slightly moisten the grain with water or a liquid supplement.
Note: Dura-Hoof can be safely used on mares in all stages of pregnancy.
Withholding Period
3 clear days in racing.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Replace lid between uses. Shelf life: 2 years.
This product is exempt from registration as an oral nutritional compound compliant with Schedule 4 of the ACVM Regulations 2001.
