Paraffin Gauze Dressing 10cm x 10cm - 36 Pack

Paraffin Gauze Sterile Dressings conists of gauze which has been impregnated with hospital grade white soft paraffin. It is used for the primary wound contact layer and the paraffin helps prevent adherence to the surface of the wound.

It is applied direct to the wound, and an absorbent pad, such as the Gamgee, is held in place with either the vet wrap or equiplast. The dressing should be changed frequently as per the advice given by your veterinary surgeon.

Farmhand™ cohesive does not stretch and loosen during active use.

We recommend stretching to full length, then relaxing by half, as it is being applied. 

This will ensure the bandage is properly “set” for correct tension. All bandages are 4.6m stretched length.

Dairymen have used a variety of products for quick and easy temporary identification in the cowshed.

Plastic insulation tape is often used, but this can often shrink after application and cause some pain and aggravation.

Ordinary hardware-store duct tape is cheap, and is easy to apply, but generally falls off in a very short time as water penetrates the plastic coating and causes the cloth to fall apart.

Our special-manufacture Leg & Tail tape is made for the purpose.

It is a polyethylene-coated water-proof cloth-backed tape that is easy to rip, will not shrink, and will stay on the leg or tail for up to three weeks.

Refractometer Colostrum Dairy/Equine

Accurately and quickly assess the levels of antibodies in colostrum to ensure an ideal start for calves and foals.

To ensure maximum antibody protection is given to new-born foals/calves, 2-to-4 litres of good quality colostrum should be fed in the first 12 hours of life.

Colostrum quality can vary significantly from horse to horse. .

This BRIX-scale refractometer enables you to easily test colostrum quality for cow or mare milk. After checking calibration of the instrument with distilled water, two drops of the colostrum to be tested are placed on the glass prism.

The instrument is then aimed towards the light and the colostrum level (approx 19% to 24%) is read off the internal scale. Readings above 22% indicate high-quality colostrum.

Supplied in a quality soft fabric carry case, complete with sampling pipette, small screw driver and instructions for use.
