Blud Boost
Vetpro Blud-Boost is a hematinic supplement that provides bio-available iron with essential B Vitamins including folate, plus Copper, and amino acids Methionine, Glycine and Lysine. A hematinic is a nutrient required for the formation of blood cells in the process of haematopoiesis. The main hematinics are iron, B12, and folate all provided in Blud-Boost. They improve the condition and quality of the blood, and increase the number of erythrocytes and/or the haemoglobin concentration. Thus assisting the oxygen carrying capacity of the cells of blood.
The iron in Vetpro Blud-Boost is provided as Iron Glycinate which is a Bio-available iron that is readily and safely absorbed by the digestive process of the horse.
When in hard work, the horse needs the maximum oxygen carrying capacity of blood, a hematinic supplement can assist with this work demand to maximise the performance, it does not enhance the result, only ensures no reduction from a possible low haemoglobin state. Again under hard work conditions the horses natural ability to produce B Vitamins in the gut is reduced, so Vetpro Blud-Boost provides a full range of B vitamins to assist the horse up to normal levels. This reduction in internal production also occurs at times of stress, or when subjected to illness, infections, trauma or long distance travel, so using Vetpro Blud-Boost will improve the horses recovery at these times.
The B Vitamins are:
B12 Cobalamin, B2 Riboflavin, B6 Pyridoxine, B9 Folacin, B3 Niacin, B5 Pantothenic Acid, B7 Biotin Choline
Dosage: Ideally a dose of 20gm per day is recommended for 10 days when a blood test shows a lowered haemoglobin level, or for recovery from the situations mentioned above. It can also be given as a pre competition or race boost, or a post event recovery at 20gms per day for 3 days.
Available sizes: Vetpro Blud-Boost is provided in a re-sealable foil pouch with a 20gm scoop and can be purchased in a 300gm or 1 Kg size.
Sedalyte (Electrolyte Replacement for Horses)
Replaces more of what is actually lost in sweat.
Inadequate electrolyte replacement after sweat loss leads to dehydration, lethargy, reduced water intake and muscle weakness in performance. It is also a major cause of tying up (Equine rhabdomyolysis).
SedaLYTE is an advanced electrolyte replacer specifically designed to help prevent such performance losses from occurring. It has been formulated after extensive research to determine the actual composition of sweat and this research has led to the higher electrolyte levels found in SedaLYTE (Potassium, Sodium, Magnesium and Chloride). This also means that SedaLYTE contains more of what is actually lost in sweat and less of other compounds not important with regards to sweat loss.
It is because SedaLYTE's balanced formulation more closely mimics the actual composition of a horse's sweat that it is so effective at helping to prevent poor performance due to sweat loss.
Individual horses sweat differently under differing work loads and climates. SedaLYTE's formulation and feeding directions are directly related to the amount of sweat lost, taking into account both the amount of work done and the climate. This means that you can ensure you are correctly replacing your horses sweat loss no matter what the climate. The addition of glucose in the SedaLYTE formulation improves the uptake of the essential electrolytes into the gut (stomach) to quickly help prevent dehydration.
To also help maximise electrolyte uptake, it is advisable to split the daily SedaLYTE dosage into more than one feed (e.g. half the daily dose in the morning and half in the evening). The apple flavouring in SedaLYTE makes it very palatable.
SedaLYTE contains no bicarbonates and does not contravene the rules of racin

Precautions
1 It should remove embedded dirt.
2 It should relieve minor fungal and bacterial skin infections.
3 It should leave the coat with a healthy sheen.
Vetpro Fungal Cleansing Shampoo combines all these properties.
It contains a surfactant which gives the shampoo its rich lathering ability, lifting dirt from the coat.
Kerasol, a hydrolysed form of Keratin, revitalizes the hair while Aloe Vera moisturizes the coat, leaving it with sheen. Dry, flaky skin disappears.
Two of the active ingredients have anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, effective for many minor skin conditions.
Mud fever has a reputation of being difficult to treat due to persistent skin moisture coupled with the infective organism living beneath the exudative crust on the skin.
Vetpro Fungal Cleansing Shampoo softens the crust, allowing them to be gently lifted off the skin and Aloe Vera and Kerasol leave the skin moisturized.
Girth rash and cover rubs also respond well to treatment with Vetpro Fungal Cleansing Shampoo.
Breathable durable stretchy bandage
Consistent compression level
Binds to self not skin
Sweat & water resistant
Not as stretchy or as spongy as some cohesives, making it a nice alternative and complementary bandage where not too much elasticity is an advantage.
Farmhand™ cohesive bandage is less likely to cause circulation problems.
Farmhand™ cohesive does not stretch and loosen during active use.
We recommend stretching to full length, then relaxing by half, as it is being applied.
This will ensure the bandage is properly “set” for correct tension.
All bandages are 4.6m stretched length.

Droncit 50mg tablet single
Droncit tablets for the control of tapeworms (including Hydatid & Taenia ovis tapeworms) in dogs and cats
Droncit is indicated for the treatment of tapeworms (including Hydatid* and Taenia ovis tapeworms) in dogs and cats.
Each tablet contains 50 mg Praziquantel.
- For the control of tapeworms
- Easy-to-give oral treatment
- Suitable for both dogs and cats
Droncit is safe and may be used in all dogs and cats regardless of age and pregnancy.
The dose rate in New Zealand for monthly control of tapeworm in dogs and cats is 1 tablet per 20kg.
The dose rate of “1 per 10kg” seen on the packaging applies to Australia, who shares the same packaging and still have Hydatid Tapeworm risk. Hydatid tapeworm has been eradicated in NZ.
Droncit should be given as a single dose by mouth and may be administered immediately before or with a meal.
DOGS and CATS: Treat general infection regularly, particularly whenever tapeworm segments are seen. Dogs and cats infested with fleas can rapidly become reinfested with Dipylidium caninum (common flea tapeworm) in the absence of flea control. Dogs and cats that hunt small prey may also be more susceptible to tapeworm infestation. For routine worming a broad-spectrum product should be used such as Drontal or Milbemax. Consult the product leaflet or seek veterinary advice for establishing an appropriate deworming schedule for the individual animal.
SHEEP MEASLES IN DOGS: Dogs should be treated for Taenia ovis (sheep measles) at monthly intervals.
For general dog health, every third month the Droncit™ can be replaced with Drontal Allwormer for Dogs or Milbemax. This will not compromise control of sheep measles as Drontal Allwormer for Dogs and Milbemax is also effective against the sheep measles tapeworm.
*Hydatid tapeworm has been eradicated in NZ (since 2002).

3 Horses Virex is a 100% natural therapeutic product for horses to aid in the relief of symptoms associated with viral respiratory infections.
Viral respiratory infections are extremely common in horses. They are a major cause of respiratory disease and poor performance. They cause irritation and inflammation of the upper and lower respiratory tract, leading to the symptoms of nasal discharge, persistent cough and louder than normal respiration during exercise (‘thick winded’).
Early recognition and treatment is important to ensure a fast, uncomplicated recovery. Two important parts of the treatment program are the avoidance of stress (which means keeping the horse rested and warm) and the alleviation of the symptoms.
3 Horses Virex works in three ways:
- By reducing the viscosity of the mucus that block the airways.
- As an expectorant.
- By soothing and relieving the respiratory tracts.
The Liquorice Extract contains Glycyrrhetinic Acid, soothing the airways and thereby reducing the frequency and intensity of coughing.
Potassium Iodide and Anise Oil are both good expectorants, while Ammonium Chloride breaks the thick mucus secretions down, allowing them to flow up the ‘respiratory tree’ and out the nostrils.
3 Horses Virex can also be used when other factors such as dust, allergies or bacterial infections produce irritation of the respiratory tract.
3 Horses Virex contains no prohibited substances so it can be used before and during competition. It is palatable and easy to administer via an oral dosing syringe. Continue for 10-12 days or until horse shows signs of recovery. If the condition persists consult a veterinarian.
