DOSAGE & DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Horses (450 - 500 kg)
28 mL of NEUTRADEX® added to the feed daily. Following hard or fast work or racing, give 50 mL NEUTRADEX® orally (by syringe over the back of the tongue). Horses suffering from dehydration need a supplementary daily ration of electrolytes.
To Help Prevent Tying Up
Give additional 30 mL by mouth after every workout or slow work and increase to 50 mL after any hard work (if horses are prone to muscle soreness and tying up).
To Maintain Thirst on Fast Work Days
Give 50 mL NEUTRADEX® over the tongue as soon as possible after very hard or fast exercise to neutralise acid and stimulate drinking.
Race Days
50 mL over the tongue prior to evening meal.
Day After Racing
50 mL over the tongue prior to morning meal.

PRECAUTIONS
Ensure an adequate supply of cool, clean water is accessible. NEUTRADEX® exerts a mild diuretic and neutralising effect on acidic substances which accumulate in the muscles and blood stream. Metabolic acidosis may impair normal muscular function, thereby interfering with performance. Dehydration, which can cause sluggish blood flow and impaired tissue oxygenation, can be effectively assisted by the administration of NEUTRADEX®. In horses, NEUTRADEX® may also be prescribed as a co-treatment in kidney, bladder and urinary tract infections.
Use immediately after hard work and after warm down exercise is completed, for one to two days. Add to the feed daily or give over the tongue. Ensure fresh water is available at all times after dosing. Use only as directed.
The active constituents in Neutradex are not, to our knowledge, prohibited substances in any racing or competition jurisdictions. However users are encouraged to check with their respective authority prior to the use of any supplement or medication.

Equine Performance Electrolytes
Supplementing horses with electrolytes is vital to the health and welfare of the horse. A horse that develops sweat will need replacement of the salts lost in that sweat. The harder a horse is working, or the hotter the conditions – the greater the loss of salts and minerals.
The highest levels lost in sweat are sodium, chloride and potassium. Small amounts of calcium and magnesium are also expelled and smaller amounts of other trace minerals. These losses can result in the horse not being able to maintain the correct cellular fluid levels.
Imbalanced and low fluid levels can result in ineffective transmission of nerve impulses and also muscle contractions. Insufficient electrolytic levels will result in early fatigue and reduced stamina. In extreme cases a horse will lose the desire to drink water, thus compounding the detrimental effects on their health and more severe symptoms such as unco-ordinated movements, muscle weakness and sometimes trembling.
Vetpro has developed a specialist pH neutral electrolyte formulation with higher levels for horses in hard work such as racing and endurance and eventing. Or horses working in very hot conditions.
Vetpro Performance Electrolytes are a neutral pH composition. The idea of acid and alkaline electrolyte supplements is now regarded by equine physiologists to be unnecessary. Horses can develop a mild metabolic acidosis after intense exercise and may develop a metabolic alkalosis in situations of heavy sweat loss. In both these cases so long as there is sufficient chloride in the DEB then the horses kidneys will sort out its own acid/base balance.
