Poseidon Daily Balance - Equine Minerals and Vitamins
Daily Balance is the ultimate balanced mineral and vitamin supplement for horses, formulated to ensure your horse gets all the minerals and vitamins they need to thrive.
- trace minerals and essential minerals for horses
- vitamins including natural Vitamin E
- amino acids to support gut health and cell repair
- yeast-derived prebiotic and postbiotic
Made in New Zealand, this tasty equine mineral and vitamin supplement comes in palatable lucerne based pellets which smell great to horses. Daily Balance is ideal to fill nutrient gaps for horses on forage (pasture or hay) based diets, and also ensures that horses who are fed diets which contain less than the recommended daily rate of all vitamins and minerals get the required amount of minerals and vitamins. (ie. you may feed various amounts of supplemented feeds resulting in your horse not getting the full requirement recommended by the manufacturers; or you may feed un-supplemented horse feeds and prefer to manage the supplementation of equine minerals and vitamins yourself using one simple product.)

Micronizing is a “Short Time, High Temperature” patented process using the grains moisture and infrared heat to achieve conditions essential for the optimal cooking of starch and starch gelatinisation. During processing the grain becomes soft and pliable, causing the reconfiguration of the starch structure (gelatinisation). Immediate flaking fully gelatinises the starches so as to significantly enhance the digestibility and nutritional value of the feed.
The small intestine is the epicentre of nutrient digestion in the horse. Vitamins, minerals, fats, protein and starch are readily absorbed in the small intestine. Research shows that feed digested in the small intestine significantly increases the rate of glucose (energy) absorption. Micronizing lupins improves feed efficiency and digestibility and eliminates anti nutritional factors which can have a detrimental affect on amino acid availability limiting growth and development, appetite and the general health and well being of the horse.
MICRLUPINS® transfer the site of digestion back to the small intestine improving feed efficiency and reducing the burden on the hind gut resulting in fewer incidences of dietary induced problems such as colic, acidosis, laminitis, loss of appetite, nervousness, fatigue and reduced performance.
HYGAIN® MICRONIZED feeds and MICRGRAIN’S® provide nutritional benefits for all classes of horses.
HYGAIN® FIBRESSENTIAL® is a revolutionary fibre source suitable for all equines. The guaranteed uniform nutritional values make HYGAIN® FIBRESSENTIAL® your first choice for fibre. Based on super fibres providing an enhanced level of digestibility, HYGAIN® FIBRESSENTIAL®‘s feeding rates can be reduced by a third in volume when compared to chaff. HYGAIN® FIBRESSENTIAL® also features reduced sugar levels and a balanced Calcium to Phosphorous ratio.
HYGAIN® FIBRESSENTIAL® is easy to feed and will provide superior conditioning whilst significantly reducing the dust and inconsistency often associated with traditional forms of chaff.

Dunstan Extruded Maize 25KG
Available via Pre Order
Please note this product cannot be shipped due to size and weight. In store pick up only.
Maize provides an energy-dense supplement feed for horses with increased calorie demands for performance or when requiring weight gain. However, it is not a suitable feed stuff for horses in an uncooked state due to its lack of preceacal digestibly. The extrusion or cooking process, when applied to Maize, raises digestibility in the small intestine from around 30% to 90%. Therefore Dunstan Extruded Maize is a safe way to provide this energy-dense grain to the diets of performance horses, providing them with the necessary ‘fuel’ to perform.
The addition of Vegetable Oil during the extrusion process enhances the energy value of the product whilst adding essential fatty acids to aid cellular integrity and skin and coat appearance.
Dunstan Extruded Maize is presented as small discs and when fed in conjunction with a balanced diet for protein, fibre, minerals and vitamins, provides a highly available energy source for hard-working horses or where an extra condition is required.
Equine Safe
Dunstan Horsefeeds are produced in Equine-Safe manufacturing plants, ensuring a product of premium quality, safety and performance.

Additional calcium is required for:
- Pregnant mares to build the skeleton (and other tissues) of the unborn foal
- Lactating mares especially until the foal is about 3 months old. Young foals take virtually all their nutrition from their mother's milk. For instance if Mum doesn't receive enough calcium from her diet then it is dragged out of her bones to supply the needs of the growing foal. This is detrimental to her long term health and means the foal may not get all he requires to be strong and healthy
- Horses that are working hard suffer a lot of 'wear and tear' and can lose calcium in their sweat
- Oxalates present in certain grasses, (especially kikuyu in New Zealand) bind up the calcium making it unavailable to the horse. The organic calcium in Xtra Cal is already bound so cannot be bound by oxalates and is therefore available to the horse.
* Pregnant and lactating mares that are also grazing oxalate grasses are very vulnerable to calcium deficiency.
