Dunstan Broodmare Mix is a highly palatable complete textured feed for Broodmares. It is suitable for Mares during pregnancy that requires supplementary feed to maintain body condition.
Lactation puts large energy demands on the Mare and therefore increased levels of supplementary feed are likely to be required for the Mare to maintain desirable body condition during this time. Dunstan Broodmare Mix will provide a balanced, energy-dense supplement to satisfy nutritional requirements of the lactating Mare.
For foals at foot, Dunstan Broodmare Mix provides a suitable supplementary feed to bridge any nutritional shortfall that may be present in late lactation, as well as introducing the foals to hard feed prior to weaning.

Maize provides an energy-dense supplement feed for horses with increased calorie demands for performance or when requiring weight gain. However, it is not a suitable feed stuff for horses in an uncooked state due to its lack of preceacal digestibly. The extrusion or cooking process, when applied to Maize, raises digestibility in the small intestine from around 30% to 90%. Therefore Dunstan Extruded Maize is a safe way to provide this energy-dense grain to the diets of performance horses, providing them with the necessary ‘fuel’ to perform.
The addition of Vegetable Oil during the extrusion process enhances the energy value of the product whilst adding essential fatty acids to aid cellular integrity and skin and coat appearance.
Dunstan Extruded Maize is presented as small discs and when fed in conjunction with a balanced diet for protein, fibre, minerals and vitamins, provides a highly available energy source for hard-working horses or where an extra condition is required.

Dunstan Pasture Plus is an extruded mineralised nugget, formulated to meet the mineral needs of the pregnant Broodmare whilst at pasture.
It is important that during the last three months of foetal development, that the Broodmare receives sufficient intake of the important trace minerals, Copper, Zinc, Manganese and Selenium, to ensure correct skeletal development and joint soundness in the developing foal.
Pasture is usually sufficient to meet the nutritional needs for protein and energy at this time, and the need for supplementary feed is often not required to meet these requirements.
However, it is unlikely that pasture intake alone will meet the elevated requirement for trace minerals, and therefore supplementation either as a balanced horse feed or a specific mineralised feed is recommended.
Dunstan Pasture Plus is a cooked cereal nugget that contains within its formulation the Broodmare’s requirements for the essential trace elements, Magnesium, Calcium, Phosphorus and Salt. The growth amino acid, Lysine, is provided to boost pasture quality.
The provision of Copper, Zinc and Selenium in the more available forms as Organic Copper, Organic Zinc and Selenium Yeast, enhances the availability of these essential minerals, at a time when the Broodmares digestive capacity is often compromised.
Dunstan Pasture Plus is not a complete feed, but a mineralised feed concentrate to be fed in conjunction with pasture.

Dunstan Grass Balancer is a semi- concentrate. This makes it ideal for the young growing horse who does not require the recommended intakes of a ‘full feed’ i.e. when there are signs of Developmental Orthopaedic Disease (DOD) type conditions or where excessive growth rates through high pasture quality and availability are anticipated. In these situations feeding a ‘full feed’ at the recommended intakes to meet key nutrient requirements will result in excessive calorie intakes.
Dunstan Grass Balancer provides a balance of protein, amino acids and energy of the same high specification as Dunstan Yearling Mix, but with elevated trace minerals and vitamin levels to compensate for reduced daily feed intake.
Selenium Yeast, the organic form of Selenium for optimum assimilation of this important trace mineral is included in Dunstan Grass Balancer. Natural Vitamin E is also included, providing a more potent and bioavailable form of Vitamin E.

Dunstan Orphan Foal is a palatable, highly digestible feed in the form of a meal, designed as an introduction to solid feeding. It is not a milk replacer, but a blend of milk powder, vegetable proteins, cooked cereals, minerals and vitamins and essential amino acids.
Dunstan Orphan Foal Mix has been formulated to encourage transition from dependence on milk, to a solid diet based on conventional cereal and protein.
The inclusion of milk powder ,cooked cereals and Soyabean Meal produces a highly palatable and digestible introduction to solid feeding. The Milk Powder content within Dunstan Orphan Foal Mix allows for a porridge to be made with warm water.
A highly digestible protein source (Laltide) supplies a range of peptides and nucleotides derived from yeast to aid natural immunity and gastrointestinal health.
The inclusion of the live yeast (Vistacell) aids digestion and will assist in maintaining a more optimal hindgut pH.

Dunstan Staggers Nuggets are a low intake, extruded nugget containing toxin binders. It contains two forms of toxin binder, a yeast based binder in CitriStim® MOSand clay-based binder in Zeolite.
Mycotoxin binders aim to bind the Mycotoxins a horse ingests, thereby rendering them inactive and having them pass through the digestive system. Excreting the mycotoxins before they are absorbed in the horse’s bloodstream avoids their undesirable side effects.
Whilst the use of mycotoxin binders, specifically for Dunstan Grass Staggers, has not yet been subject to full scientific evaluation, anecdotal evidence from current and past users suggest strongly, a marked effect in helping to minimize this risk and justifies its inclusion in the diet of horses exposed to pasture endophytes.

The Omega 6 & 9 Fatty Acids are known for their activity in enhancing skin and coat condition.
Omega 3, the heart Fatty Acid, plays an important role in cell integrity, enhancement of the natural immune system, and provides an anti-inflammatory effect.
Rice Bran Oil is also a component of Dunstan Trifecta Oil, adding to the Omega 6 profile, but more specifically for the contribution of Gamma Oryzanol which has a positive role in weight gain and muscle development.
Dunstan Trifecta Oil provides a ‘cool’ energy source to the ration of grain-sensitive horses, allowing a portion of grain to be replaced by this ‘cool’ calorie source.
Horse prone to ‘tying-up’ will benefit from replacing a portion of the grain in the daily ration with Dunstan Trifecta Oil.
For poor doers or hardworking horses when high intakes of supplementary feed are already being provided, adding some Dunstan Trifecta Oil to the daily feed will result in an increase in calorie contribution without the horse having to consume more feed.
